In July 2021, Dan co-founded Coaching for Social Justice to equip leadership coaches like himself with the capacity and capabilities to engage clients from a commitment to DEIJB.

A 2011 graduate of Georgetown University’s Certificate in Leadership Coaching program, Dan has provided individual- and team-coaching services to more than 600 leaders. He holds the distinguished Master Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation and is a certified coaching supervisor through Oxford Brookes University Business School.

His work has taken him inside public school systems, big-data software firms, health care systems, global construction companies, Army bases, international relief organizations, trucking & logistics companies, and many federal agencies. As a member of the coaching cadre for American University’s Key Executive Leadership Programs, Dan has coached leaders preparing for Senior Executive Service positions within the Dept. of Homeland Security, USDA, the Federal Reserve Board, Office of Management & Budget, National Institutes of Health, and the Dept. of Defense.

Prior to becoming a leadership coach, Dan spent 28 years as an equity partner in an international information company. He served in many roles as the firm grew from start-up to 1,500 employees: publishing director; general manager and member of the board of directors. For six of those years he oversaw the design and delivery of internal leadership-development programs for his firm’s 150 managers and senior executives.

In 1980, Dan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a long-time resident of Washington, D.C.
